Pinterest announces livestream shopping series ‘Pinterest TV’
Pinterest has announced its latest eCommerce push Pinterest TV, a series of live, shoppable creator shows. Pinterest TV live episodes will be refreshed every weekday, as well as being recorded and made available for users to watch later on demand. The series is initially being launched in the US on 8th November, with creators and brands on the line-up including Tom Daley, Manny MUA, Christian Siriano and Crown Affair.
Instagram launches livestream shopping events for holiday season
Instagram’s also jumping on the livestream shopping trend, this week announcing a series of live shopping events for the holiday season. The themed events will be available in the Instagram Shop tab under ‘Holiday Picks’, and will include series such as #BuyBlack Fridays, showcasing black-owned brands, limited edition drops from brands such as VEERT and the Met Store, and appearances from celebrities and creators including Swizz Beatz, Julia Lang and Paloma Elsesser.
Instagram launches interactive ‘Add Yours’ sticker
Less than a week after launching its link sticker to all users, Instagram has introduced a new sticker, ‘Add Yours’. The sticker allows creators to prompt others to respond to their Stories, creating a thread of other Stories posts from users who have engaged with the content. Other users can then click on the sticker and scroll through these responses. ‘Add Yours’ appears to be Instagram’s answer to TikTok’s popular Duet feature, which often leads to threads of creators and users engaging in trending content.
Facebook tests new ‘Spotlight conversation’ option
Facebook is testing a new conversation option that would allow users to host public chats more easily within its app. ‘Spotlight conversation’ will seemingly enable users to invite specific people to respond to a post, with their responses then separated into dedicated spaces. Other users will still be able to see the post and comment, but their replies would be placed in another separate tab.
Twitter previews new NFT options
Twitter has shared some insight into its new NFT options, which are still under development. In examples shared on the platform, the new NFT display process will allow users to connect their NFT details into their image feed. This in turn will enable users to look up the information on any NFT that profile uses.
The NBA signs exclusive content deal with Twitter
The National Basketball Association (NBA) has signed an exclusive, multi-year partnership with Twitter, which includes 40 scheduled Twitter Spaces. The announcement by the NBA details that the Spaces will feature “NBA players, legends and other members of the NBA family discussing on-court storylines and reflecting on the league’s storied 75-year history.” The Spaces will include sponsorships, giving brands new opportunities to connect and engage with fans through live NBA audio.
