TikTok launches Jump, a new feature allowing creators to embed mini-programs and services in videos

TikTok has introduced its new feature Jump, which it says gives creators a new way to “share engaging and informative content” through embedding “mini-programs and services” from third-party providers. The platform has been testing the feature with a limited number of creators from its Creator Fund and has already secured partnerships with 6 external apps, including Wikipedia, Quizlet and StatMuse. Users can interact with Jumps by clicking on them when they’re included in creators’ videos, and will then be able to explore a range of content, take quizzes, and more.

Facebook officially launches Live Audio Rooms in the US

Facebook has officially launched its new Live Audio Rooms feature to a select few Groups and public figures on the platform. Over the next few weeks, the feature will be expanded to more high-profile users and Groups, with admins able to control who can create Live Audio Rooms within their communities. Facebook’s Live Audio Rooms allow up to 50 speakers at any one time, with no limit to the number of listeners, and allow users to “discover, listen in on and join live conversations with public figures, experts, and others.”

Twitter opens up public applications for ticketed Spaces and Super Follows

Twitter has now opened up its incoming ticketed Spaces and Super Follows features to public applications, with users now able to apply to test them for themselves. With ticketed Spaces, users will be able to charge for exclusive access to audio Spaces and offer a variety of ticket price options. Super Follows will also enable users to make money on the platform by charging a monthly fee to give fans access to a range of additional content and engagement features, including newsletters, live-streams, and more.

Facebook announces range of new ecommerce features, including WhatsApp Shops

Facebook has announced a range of new ecommerce tools for its Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp platforms. On WhatsApp, it has announced it is launching Shops, which will enable businesses to present their entire Shop in the app, allowing users to find relevant products and connect with businesses directly to find out more. Its other new features include Shop listings in Facebook marketplace, which will increase the discoverability of brands and allow them to connect with interested shoppers, and a visual product search option on Instagram, which is similar to Pinterest’s visual search tool and will allow users to find products based on an AI-powered lens.
