#SocialDay20 Wrap-Up: What Does the Data Show?

SocialDay is over for another year! Whilst it was a bit different to previous years, it was definitely just as fun, with lots of people connecting via the app and on social. Let’s take a look at who was talking about the event and what they thought of it.

We used Talkwalker Quick Search to track the event hashtag, #socialday20, over the 4 days, in the run up to and the 3 days during the event. Here’s what we found…

There were 2000 mentions of #socialday20 with 1200 engagements. People also seemed to LOVE SocialDay with mainly positive sentiment (61.5%) towards the hashtag.

In addition to talking about SocialDay and the organisers themselves, people were discussing the presentation from Nick Entwistle of One Minute Briefs. Other speakers that were being talked about included Hel Reynolds from Comms Creative, keynote speaker Katie King and Charlotte Williams from SevenSix.

It’s clear from the emojis used with the hashtag during the last seven days that people had a lot of fun, with laughter, smiles and party vibes dominating. A lot of coffee was drunk and many minds were also blown, by the looks of it. Can anyone work out what the robot reference is about though…?

One of the great things about going virtual this year is that the event opened up to people participating from around the world. We can see that people were participating with the hashtag in over 5 countries during the seven days.

So who attended SocialDay this year? Based on who was using the hashtag #socialday20, we can see that the bulk of the audience were millennial women.

We can also see that the majority of those getting involved in the conversation were entrepreneurs, at 18% of the total. This was followed by social media specialists at 12.5% of the total, and author/ writer at 12%, so it’s great to see such diversity in the audience.
