Experience: 30 years. I have over 30 years’ of marketing consulting experience and have advised many of the world's leading brands and business leaders, including Richard Branson/Virgin, o2, Orange, Accenture, PA Consulting, Huawei, Arsenal Football Club and Harrods.
What do you love most about social media: I love change: it's always evolving. I love the immediacy of it and the ability to speak to the whole world from your home office.

What does your day to day work consist of?: No one day is the same!
I’m a published Author, Keynote Speaker and Consultant on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital/business transformation. I travel worldwide consulting, speaking and training.
I’m also a member of the UK Government All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) task force for the enterprise adoption of AI.

What challenges do you face within your role?: I have to keep innovating and staying current. I've been in marketing 30 years; 15 of those at the cutting edge of digital marketing. I wrote the book to gain a new USP.
Are there any social media tools you use to make your job easier?: Just the simple ones like Sendible. I trial lots of tools and they are just not good enough, e.g. Unfollow tools. For my book, I interviewed dozens of cool tech disruptors such as Concured.
As there are so many changes to social media, how do you keep up to date with the latest information?: Always researching, reading, going to conferences and listening to podcasts!
For someone looking to get into a social media role, where would you advise them to start?: Get your LinkedIn profile in tip-top shape. Join great Groups on LinkedIn and Facebook, and be super proactive, connecting with the whole eco-system.
What's been your best social media success story to date and why?: Before social media was popular, I've fully exploited all core platforms for my own thought leadership and new business. What has been your favourite social media campaign (Big or Small) this year so far and why?: I absolutely loved Gillette's campaign #TheBestMenCanBe with its focus on male advocates, mentors, and leaders in their communities. Very topical given the #MeToo culture.
Finally, what would you like the future of social media to be?: Far less bullying and more support and kindness.
