Q&A with Jennifer Quigley-Jones

This week in our series of Q&As with SocialDay, we’re speaking to Jennifer Quigley-Jones, Founder and CEO of influencer marketing agency Digital Voices. Digital Voices runs campaigns for iconic brands including MADE.com, BBC Sounds, Rightmove, Unilever, the NHS, and many more, and believes in making content that customers want to watch, not ads they want to skip. Before founding Digital Voices, Jenny also worked at YouTube as a Strategic Partner Manager for some of the UK’s top creators.

At SocialDay 2021, Jenny will be talking about the importance of long-term YouTube creator partnerships. But before that, we thought we’d let you get to know her a little better…

Hi Jenny! We’ll jump straight in… What's the best part about working in social media marketing?

The highlight of my job is knowing that every campaign supports content creators to build their own businesses. You're pioneering an industry that didn't exist 10 years ago. Formats change all the time, you get to balance data and creativity and you never stop learning. But it makes me really proud to know that we're at the forefront of crafting the creator economy.

What stands out to you about YouTube as a platform and the opportunities it offers creators and brands?

YouTube is an extraordinary platform - the MVP of the social media landscape! YouTube is where creators can really develop their community, and audiences feel as though they get to know their favourite creators with long-form, sound on content that educates and entertains. Brands that choose to work with YouTube creators can create compelling stories while building long-term brand advocates. YouTube is the place for long-form video, and is ultimately the best way to tell an emotive story.

Your favourite campaign you've worked on in the last year?

At the time, I didn't think I'd ever say this, but Stereo was my favourite campaign we've run. The team was challenged to build the largest UK influencer marketing campaign I've ever seen grow from nothing. Within just three months, we sponsored over 150 content creators in the UK across YouTube and Instagram, driving over 47 millions views, while making the brand so well known that it became a meme in YouTube comments!

What are the 3 key takeaways people will get from your SocialDay session?

Our session is going to take a deep dive into why YouTube is the answer for building long-term creator partnerships. The key takeaways will include:

Learn how to build campaigns that keep viewers watching, while building brand loyalty and driving sales

Discover how to avoid common mistakes brands make with influencer marketing campaigns

Learn how YouTube creators can be the secret weapon to your influencer marketing campaign

What are you most excited about for SocialDay 2021?

SocialDay is one of the most engaging marketing events I've ever attended - every year I leave buzzing from the passion and innovation of both the speakers and attendees. This year, I'm so excited to be speaking and can't wait to show people just how powerful YouTube is!

And finally, if you had to describe yourself in 3 emojis what would they be?

Head exploding one (🤯), shark (🦈) and lightning bolt (⚡)!
