    Accessibility Statement

    The Sauce by SocialDay is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

    Conformance Status

    We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

    What We Do

    Keyboard Navigation

    All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. Skip links allow users to bypass repetitive navigation.

    Screen Reader Support

    Semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and descriptive labels ensure content is announced clearly by assistive technologies.

    Colour Contrast

    Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios. Accent foreground colours are optimised for legibility against brand backgrounds.

    Focus Management

    Focus is automatically moved to main content on page navigation, ensuring screen reader users are oriented after route changes.

    Forms & Validation

    All form fields have visible labels, clear error messages, and programmatic associations so assistive technologies can convey requirements.

    Status Updates

    Loading states and toast notifications use ARIA live regions so changes are announced without requiring visual attention.

    Known Limitations

    Despite our best efforts, some areas of the site may not yet fully conform. We are actively working to address the following:

    • Some third-party embedded content (e.g. YouTube videos, external registration widgets) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.2 AA. We encourage those providers to improve accessibility.
    • PDF documents such as salary reports are provided as downloadable files and may have limited accessibility. We are working to provide accessible HTML alternatives.
    • Certain rich-text editor features in the CMS are keyboard-accessible but may not provide a fully equivalent experience for all assistive technologies.

    Technologies Used

    This website is built with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. We rely on HTML5 semantic elements, WAI-ARIA attributes, and CSS media queries (including prefers-reduced-motion and prefers-color-scheme) to provide an accessible, responsive experience across devices and assistive technologies.

    Enforcement & Contact

    If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility concern, you can escalate your complaint to the Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS), which provides advice and information to individuals in England, Scotland, and Wales who feel they have experienced discrimination.
