Editorial Standards
The Sauce is the newsroom of SocialDay, an independent publication covering the social media industry. This page explains how we source, verify and publish our reporting.
Ownership and independence
The Sauce is published by SocialDay Ltd (UK company no. 14853448). We are editorially independent. Sponsored content, advertising and partner pieces are always clearly labelled and never presented as newsroom reporting.
Sourcing and verification
- Every news story cites at least one primary or on-record source (platform newsroom, official filing, verified spokesperson or first-party data).
- Screenshots, product changes and platform announcements are verified against the platform's own channels before publication.
- We link out to original sources so readers can check the underlying material for themselves.
Bylines and authorship
Every article carries a named byline. Where an article is drafted with the assistance of AI research tools, it is reviewed, fact-checked and signed off by a human editor before publication. AI is used to accelerate research, not to invent reporting.
Use of AI in the newsroom
We use large language models to help scan the industry for breaking stories, draft first passes of factual news reports, and suggest headlines. All AI-assisted drafts are edited by a human before they are published, and we do not publish AI-generated opinion pieces.
Accuracy and updates
When a story develops we update the article in place and add a note explaining what changed. See our Corrections Policy for how we handle errors.
