By accessing or using SocialDay ("the Platform"), purchasing tickets, or registering for events, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform or our services.
2. User Accounts
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or security breach
- Be responsible for all activity under your account
- Not share your account with others
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or deceptive content
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other users
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights
- Distribute spam, malware, or malicious code
- Scrape, harvest, or collect user data without permission
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's security or operation
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of content you post on the Platform.
By submitting content, you grant SocialDay a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and distribute such content for the purposes of operating, promoting, and improving the Platform and our events.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to the content
- Your content does not infringe third-party rights
- Your content complies with these Terms and any applicable Community Guidelines
5. Content Moderation
We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove content at our discretion where it breaches these Terms or applicable laws.
We may suspend or permanently terminate accounts that repeatedly violate our policies.
6. Intellectual Property
The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by SocialDay and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
7. Events and Third Parties
The Platform may include links to third-party websites, sponsors, partners, or service providers. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party services.
Attendance at SocialDay events is subject to any additional event-specific terms provided at registration.
8. Data Protection and Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
SocialDay complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and is registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
We collect and process personal data including (where applicable):
- Name
- Email address
- Job title and company details
- Event registration and attendance data
- Platform usage data
We use this data to:
- Provide access to the Platform and events
- Manage registrations
- Deliver event communications and service updates
- Send marketing communications where you have opted in
- Share relevant delegate information with approved sponsors or partners where clearly disclosed at the point of registration
Where personal data is shared with third parties (including event sponsors), this will be transparently disclosed during registration. Where required under UK GDPR and PECR, we will obtain your consent before sharing your email address for marketing purposes.
Users have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of their personal data. Requests can be made via info@socialday.co.uk
9. Marketing Communications
We may send you service-related communications regarding your account or event attendance.
Where you have opted in, we may also send marketing communications about SocialDay events, content, and partner offerings. You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free from harmful components.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SocialDay shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform or attendance at our events.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at our discretion if you breach these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms from time to time. Where changes are significant, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any disputes arising under these Terms.
