    It took me a second...

I’ll be completely honest when I first started using Asana, I hated it. The interface felt overwhelming and a bit clunky, and I struggled to get my head around it. But now I’d genuinely be lost without it. Once I got past that initial dislike it became a necessity. For managing deadlines, campaign activity, and a team of five. Being able to see everything in one place, track progress in real time, leave comments, and share boards with other departments has completely streamlined the way we work. There’s still features I could explore, but right now the basics are part of my everyday routine. I have even integrated AI tools with it to create tasks from my outlook emails directly! It’s one of those tools you don’t realise you need until you really start using it properly.

The tool that finally got my client workflows out of my head and into one place

I started using Asana properly about two years ago after realising that managing multiple client projects across spreadsheets, notes apps and Slack threads was completely unsustainable. What I like most about it is how flexible it is depending on how your brain works. For social media specifically, it's been useful for mapping out content calendars, briefing UGC creators, tracking campaign deliverables and keeping clients in the loop without endless check-in emails. The learning curve is real if you want to use it properly rather than just scratching the surface, but once it clicks it becomes the kind of tool you can't imagine working without.

    Pros:

Highly flexible across different project types, good for client-facing work and internal team management, timeline view is great for campaign planning, integrates well with tools like Slack and Google Drive

    Cons:

Can feel overwhelming to set up initially, some of the more useful features are locked behind the paid plan, and it's easy to overcomplicate your workspace if you don't have a clear system from the start
